Baking Spree start

I've been meaning to make cookies for a while now, but rather than normal cookies (I know it's easy to make cookies from scratch), I thought, why not venture outside the box and make cake mix cookies? It's been done before, I won't say it's very original, but it's interesting to see how cake mix can be done, cookie style.

White Wings on special!

The ingredients were all there: Box of cake mix, about 2 tbsp of cream cheese (optional), 2 eggs, add in walnuts and any other stuff you want in the cookies... could use choc chips too... and then melted butter... some recipes call for 1/4 cup (you could use regular oil), but I usually adjust that to less. Just mix it all!

I like putting nuts into my cookies... chocolate chips work well too, but nuts make it seem just a tad healthier. Yea right, healthy cookies, defeats the whole point of cookies.

So after dumping the whole lot of ingredients into a bowl and mixing it well, grab a ball of it.

Roll in icing sugar, which will be your best friend after making this, because the balls are going to be sticky.

Aw look at them, so cute. Flatten them out with your fist and then you're ready to put them into the oven~ I set mine to 180 degrees and didn't bother with timer or anything. I just took them out when I thought they were done. About 10-15 minutes I assume.

And they are done! Sprinkle with more icing sugar, because icing sugar should be your best friend by now. I tried this using chocolate cake mix and blueberry muffin mix... blueberry muffin mix turned out a bit of gooey mess because there's a sachet of blueberry jam included... once I put that into the mix, it became way too gooey, it was quite hard to form it into balls. Once again, icing sugar came to the rescue.

And I eat my cookies with cream cheese smothered on top of it. People give me disgusted looks when I do that, but hey, it's like cream cheese icing on top of cookies, except I didn't bother making cream cheese icing (which involves more icing sugar anyway, eating it straight is much healthier). I like my cookies unhealthy ok, so don't judge. As for the cookies themselves, they were like a cross between hard cookies and cakes. It's weird. But good.
